Introducing Heather Elster

WCC HIRES NEW DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT

The Whitin Community Center (WCC) is pleased to introduce their new Director of Marketing and Development, Heather Elster. Heather started on January 2, 2007. In her new role, she will direct marketing activities, write grants, lead all development initiatives, and assist in membership growth efforts for the Whitin Community Center.

Heather joins the WCC from the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce after working there for over 2 years as the Membership Services Manager. She lives in Sutton with her husband and three sons.

Executive Director of the Whitin Community Center, Charles Thompson, states, “Heather is a great addition to our staff. Her knowledge of our Blackstone Valley community is second to none, and her background at the Chamber will be invaluable to our organization as we strive to deliver the best in services to our diverse membership.”

Heather adds, “I am excited to join the dedicated team at the WCC. My job is to spread the word about this valuable resource in the Blackstone Valley and to help it grow. I look forward to working with all the wonderful people that I met during my time at the Chamber to do just that.”

The Whitin Community Center is a private, non-profit, community-based organization serving the Blackstone Valley since 1922. The Whitin Community Center is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of individuals and families and building a strong community in the Blackstone Valley. We offer social, recreational, educational, and outreach programs that bring community members of all ages and backgrounds together. The Whitin Community Center is the Blackstone Valley’s most complete family and recreation center with approximately 3,700 members, two pools, a gym, a fitness center, child care and after school programs, and a seven-acre park.
