Get in Shape This Fall and Save at the Whitin Community Center’s September Open House!
Blackstone Valley residents are invited to visit the Whitin Community Center during their Open House on Sunday, September 16th. At the Open House, you can save on joining fees, tour the building, and there will be a free swim in our competition pool from 1:30 – 4:00 pm.
With obesity on the rise and new blood pressure classifications putting some people into higher risk categories, people have even more reasons to exercise. From preventing heart disease and Type 2 Diabetes to managing weight and stress, regular physical activity helps extend life and improve its quality. In addition, people of all ages (children, young adults, adults, and seniors) need low impact methods of exercise to recover from injuries or surgery. The Whitin Community Center is the Blackstone Valley’s only full-service family fitness center and the perfect place for you to access a variety of fitness and rehabilitation opportunities close to home and as a family.
We are a private, non-profit, community-based organization that has served the residents of the Blackstone Valley since 1922. The Whitin Community Center is committed to enhancing the health and well being of individuals and families and to encouraging a strong community in the Blackstone Valley through social, recreational, educational, and outreach programs that bring community members of all ages and backgrounds together. As the Blackstone Valley’s most complete family and recreation center with approximately 4,000 members, two pools, a gymnasium, racquetball and tennis courts, a fitness center, child care and after school programs, and a seven-acre park, we can offer you many forms of physical activity to choose from.
