Whitin Community Center offers a wide variety of adult programs with
something of interest to all age groups and fitness levels. Whether
it’s one of an extensive offering of aerobic
classes
in our
air-conditioned Aerobics Studio which has a floating hardwood floor
that will make it easy on your shins and knees, Aqua Interval
Training in the pool or one of many yoga or pilates
classes, you’re sure to find a physically beneficial and
rewarding adult program that suits your needs and schedule. These
programs are offered at convenient times on multiple days of the week
to allow you flexibility in setting up an exercise routine that works
for you. And all this in addition to the option to work on building
strength and endurance in our health club.
Both the original and competition pools are available for lap swimming at several times during the week for those wanting to make this activity part of their exercise routine. Whitin also offers various aqua aerobic classes for those interested in a low impact high-results workout, as well as the Arthritis Foundation Aquatics program to improve joint flexibility.
Whitin Community Center is the place to be for older “active” adults who want to maintain or improve their fitness level while having a lot of fun in the process. You may be interested in a high energy, low impact workout to your favorite oldies or strength and conditioning in the Silver Sneakers program. Several low impact aerobic , flexibility and water workouts are offered. And many of our programs are designed to allow even those with physical limitations to participate in a beneficial exercise routine.
